Hatch of a Royal Observer Corps post. It may be common knowledge to some, but over fifteen hundred such one-room, three-ish metre deep bunker outposts were dug around rural Britain from 1955 to hopefully serve as vital communication nodes in the event of a full Soviet strike. They are now all disused and most are destroyed beyond recognition.
